User Manual

Instalation

1. Goto https://app.accountingassistant.io
2. Do NOT login, instead install the app ass a PWA (Progressive Web Application).
3. This should install an App called InTheBack

Login

1. Open the installed InTheBlackApp
2. Login with the credentials emailed to you
3. Allow push notifications, by either allowing it when the app requests it, or you can go to Menu >> Enable Push Notifications

Sending Bills and Rental Statements

1. To record transactions from Bills you pay, Or from monthly summaries you get from your property manager, forward them to concierge@accountingassistant.io
2. The accounting assistant will extract transactions from these documents and try to save them
3. You will get a notification on your app once the email has been processed, click on the notification
4. The assistant will ask you to confirm that the transactions have been extracted correctly and that the correct transaction type has been selected for them, close the chat dialogue to view the transaction, you can reopen it by clicking the chat menu anytime
5. If the transaction type is incorrect, click on it then use the drop-down to select the correct transaction type.
6. Once transaction are correct, confirm them by pressing confirm in the chat dialogue

Financial Overview

1. Once any transactions have been saved, loading the app will give you a financial overview of your rental properties
2. It should show your profit/loss at this point as well as projected profit loss for the year
3. Any anomalies its found like missing rent or unusual expenses

Tax Time

1. The accounting assistant works on a 1st of April to 31st March Tax year
2. On the chat dialogue ask to show end of year reports,
